Park Slope's Aunt Suzie to Become Uncle Talde

It was confirmed today that the team behind Thistle Hill Tavern and the 1-month-old Talde will be taking the space that was home to Aunt Suzie for 25 years in Park Slope.

No details as to the name or the menu, but the new haunt will serve as an after hours spot for many a Park Sloper, and with future neighbors opening a block away, the stretch of 5th Ave between 1st and Carroll stands to be quite the destination.

Portland is Getting in on the Brooklyn Boom

Terroir is opening an outpost in Park Slope.  So is Dinosaur BBQ.  Al Di La offshoot Bar Corvo just opened in Prospect Heights.

Now, Portland chef and James Beard award winner, Andy Ricker wants in.  He is planning to open a version of his Portland based restaurants Pok Pok on Columbia Street in Cobble Hill.  The Pok Pok menus are inspired by the street food of Thailand.

Fun Food Fueled Reading

Sometime last summer Momofuku mastermind David Chang decided to get in touch with his literary side.

Lucky Peach ('Momofuku' translation) is a collaborative, quarterly magazine put together by McSweeney's, chef David Chang, writer Peter Meehan, and EIC Chris Ying.  The previous two issues are full of captivating, informative, and wild stories from people in Chang's circle.

Issue #3 is due out next month.
